Know It When I See It
As sampling has progressed, we’ve cut the blazer in a variety of fabric weights and appearances and although I’ve had good feelings about each option, this oversized peony print by Natalie Gerber was a dark horse that absolutely blew me away. To be totally transparent, I am a know-it-when-I-see-it designer. And I don’t mean know it when I see the fabric yardage, or a sketch, or a photo of something similar, but rather, when I see the finished jacket. So although I loved this striking neutral linen pattern on the roll, I wasn’t totally sure of how it would translate on the body. But when I slipped on the blazer at the end of a long studio session, I was overcome with excitement. It was almost like unwrapping a gift. I giddily send photos to Natalie and Martina and vowed to make it an option for my clients. I hope you love it too!
